Your support keeps the First Response Unit (FRU) running.
Every day, thousands of people head into the Whakarewarewa forest on bike, by foot or on horseback. And when things go wrong - the First Response Unit is ready to provide urgent medical support.
The First Response Unit responds to about 700 calls for help in the forest each year – that’s an average of two rescues per day.
Thanks to the generous support of people like you, the Rotorua Mountain Bike Club is able to fund this world-class forest rescue service.
The speed and expertise of the FRU medics means that critical assistance is given to injured forest users, preventing more serious complications and creating better outcomes. The St John ambulance service recognises the crucial role the FRU plays in the Rotorua Forest network, and works closely with the FRU medics.
Donate today to help ensure everyone can continue using our forest safely.
